Stimulus WatchEconomic Stimulus Webinar Helps Local Programs Find Out How to Access Funds ProLiteracy hosted a free webinar on Thursday, February 26 on strategies and tips for accessing stimulus funding at the local level. A panel of experts discussed major provisions of the stimulus package, LEAs, and adult formula grants, along with other parts of the stimulus that could benefit adult literacy and basic education programs. Presenters included Tony Peyton, National Center for Family Literacy; Sherrie Claiborne, National Coalition for Literacy; Lennox McLendon, National Council of State Directors of Adult Education; John Colbert, Moss McGee Bradley & Colbert; David Harvey, ProLiteracy CEO; and Peter Waite, facilitator, ProLiteracy. Co-sponsors included the National Center for Family Literacy, the National Coalition for Literacy, the Commission on Adult Basic Education, the National Council of State Directors of Adult Education, Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages, Literacy Powerline, and ProLiteracy.
