ProLiteracy has alerted members to the Dollar General Literacy Foundation announcement about the availability of Adult Literacy Grants, which award funding to nonprofit organizations providing direct service to adults in need of literacy assistance. Organizations must provide help in one of the following instructional areas: • Adult Basic Education • GED® Preparation • English as a Second Language (ESL)
Grant applications are due by February 24, 2011. Awards will be announced on May 12, 2011. The maximum grant amount is $20,000.
Dollar General Literacy Foundation grants are available to qualifying nonprofit organizations in the 35-state market area where Dollar General Stores are located.
