Grants Archive

Web Site Archives

In each issue of Network News we provide you with information about grant possibilities. Many foundations and corporations have specific deadlines, while others accept proposals throughout the year.

The following is a list of funders and information regarding their grant programs. When deadlines are recurring, funders are listed along with the appropriate month(s). If the funder lists no deadline - i.e., if applications are accepted and decisions are made throughout the year - no deadline is listed.

Remember that funding priorities and deadlines are subject to change, so you should contact the funder or check the funder's Web site to find current information.

Bank of America Foundation

The Bank of America Foundation supports nonprofit organizations in the communities throughout the U.S. where the bank does business. The Foundation's primary goal is to support education, with one of its priorities being financial literacy. Your link to the Foundation site is www.citigroup.com/citigroup/corporate/foundation/.

Staples Foundation for Learning - March, June & September Deadlines

The mission of the Foundation is to provide support for work that gives people the educational tools to improve their lives. Special emphasis is given to programs working with disadvantaged youth - e.g., those who have dropped out of school and who are pursuing their GED. Grant application guidelines can be found at www.staplesfoundation.org/foundapplication.html.

Dollar General Literacy Foundation - April Deadline

The Dollar General Literacy Foundation issues an annual RFP (Request For Proposals). The application is available on its Web site at www.dollargeneral.com under the Community - Dollar General Literacy Foundation page. Take advantage of this wonderful opportunity, as Dollar General is truly a champion for the cause of adult literacy in the United States.

Target Stores - July Deadline

Target stores, www.target.com, across the United States accept applications for the company's community giving grant program. They award grants in three areas: arts, education and family violence prevention. To be eligible, a group must be a nonprofit organization, a school, or a unit of government and must be located in a community where Target does business. Target accepts grant applications between February 1 and July 31. Applications are received and reviewed by local Target store team leaders who will make funding recommendations. Applications are reviewed as they are received, so early submission is recommended. Grant range is $1,000 - $5,000.

The Lawrence Foundation - August Deadline

The mission of the Lawrence Foundation is to make a difference in the world by providing contributions and grants to organizations that are working to solve pressing educational, health, and environmental issues. The initial contact with the Foundation must be a letter of inquiry. Visit the Foundation's Web site at www.thelawrencefoundation.org for information on the grant process and deadlines.
