Recertification
To be recertified, ProLiteracy America-certified trainers must complete the following requirements:
- Log in to My Certification.
- Complete the trainer recertification application.
- Obtain a local/state program endorsement.
- Sign a trainer ethics statement.
- Receive an acceptable rating on trainer observation rubric.
- Submit evidence of conducting adult literacy instructor/tutor training workshops in three of the past four years, and submit participant evaluations from these trainings.
- Provide evidence of a minimum of 40 points toward professional development directly related to adult education and literacy during the previous four years. Trainers should show evidence of participating in professional development activities in each of the four years. Note: One professional development point is equivalent to one hour of participation. - Submit a processing fee ($40 if the endorsing program is a ProLiteracy America group affiliate; $125 if the program is not an affiliate)
Upon completion of these activities, ProLiteracy America will recertify the trainer for a four-year term.
