ProLiteracy Partners with The Washington Post to Raise Awareness of Adult Literacy

ProLiteracy and the Washington Post Giving Tuesday partnership

This Giving Tuesday, ProLiteracy, the leader in adult literacy content development, programs, and advocacy for more than 60 years, and The Washington Post have partnered to raise awareness and create new opportunities for the 36 million adults in the United States who lack basic education and literacy skills.

From November 27 through December 3, The Washington Post will donate an annual print subscription of News for You® ($24 value) to an adult learner for every new annual subscription purchase of The Washington Post.

News for You is an easy-to-read news source for adult learners. The weekly publication engages learners and builds their reading, comprehension, and vocabulary skills through current events and human interest stories. The skills are necessary to help adult learners improve their quality of life.

But funding for adult literacy programs has decreased, while most programs have long waiting lists.
