ProLiteracy’s CEO and President, Kevin Morgan, conducted a Zoom interview with Stephen Reder, author of “A Lifelong and Life-Wide Framework for Adult Literacy Education.” Reder’s article was featured in ProLiteracy’s most recent issue of the Adult Literacy Education: The International Journal of Literacy, Language, and Numeracy.
In the interview, Morgan and Reder discuss the possibilities of broadening the framework of adult literacy education, shifting from the neoliberal framework to a larger and longer timeline, and Reder’s research in the adult basic education field.
“After all, they [public and private funders] have a lot of patience for the economic outcome of K-12 education, which often takes 15-20 years to develop. So why not also have that type of patience toward the impact of adult education?”
