ProLiteracy’s CEO and President Kevin Morgan talked recently with David J. Rosen, author of “Assessing and Teaching Adult Learners’ Basic and Advanced 21st Century Digital Literacy Skills,” over Zoom. Rosen’s article was featured in ProLiteracy’s most recent issue of its research journal Adult Literacy Education: The International Journal of Literacy, Language, and Numeracy.

Morgan and Rosen discussed the importance of digital literacy skills, especially in the current state of the world.

“I feel very confident that there is no going back to the ‘old normal.’ The ‘new normal,’ as some people like to refer to it, will include both in-person and remote, virtual, or online learning, because teachers have discovered that some things are better and easier to do online. And students have discovered this as well. Students have discovered the convenience of not having to travel long hours to classes as well as some other enjoyable features of remote or distance learning.”
