For Libraries and Organizations
Many literacy programs struggle to find Pre-ESL programs and now there's an innovative solution. Leamos™ is a proven Spanish language literacy curriculum used in libraries and by community-based organizations. Leamos™ is a proprietary web-based learning platform that takes adult learners through 43 self-paced instructional lessons. All that is needed is a computer with internet access, headsets, and a staff member or volunteer to help adult learners log in and get started.
Centro Latino created a partnership with 19 libraries in California which led to the Leamos@ the Library model that resulted in the completion of a toolkit. This toolkit was developed to support public libraries as they offer the program in their communities. It is intended to provide guidance, examples and templates for implementation. This project was supported by a grant received from The James Irvine Foundation and the Library Services and Technology Act, administered in California by the State Librarian.
A collection of resources can be found in our Leamos Toolbox, that includes a publication of student stories.
