The webinar discussed how a successful in-person spelling bee fundraising event was transitioned to a virtual format during the pandemic. The speaker, Shauna Brown, the executive director of Project Read in Provo, Utah, shared the group’s experience and challenges in the process.
They used Zoom, volunteers, and a Wheel of Names for team selection. The event was well-received, maintaining community relationships and fundraising goals. Plans for a live event and improvements for future virtual events were also discussed.
