CONFERENCE 2024

Join us in Baltimore for our 2024 Conference!

We are passionate about leading the adult literacy field to the best practices for program and student success. This is why every two years we host our national conference to share the latest instructional trends, up-to-date research, and expert-led panel discussions on policy and innovation to influence practice and build program capacity.

Block out October 6–9, 2024, and join us at our 2024 Conference on Adult Education at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront in Baltimore, MD. We invite you to submit a workshop proposal to join us as a presenter.

Submit a Proposal to Present

We are looking for innovative, effective, and practical workshops focusing on:

  • Instructional practices, design, and strategies for ABE/basic literacy, numeracy, ESL, high school equivalency, etc.
  • Volunteer recruitment, training, support, and community collaborations
  • Developing specialized program models for corrections, libraries, workforce development, and IET
  • Program management, improvement, and development
  • Digital literacy, equity, and access
  • Research and advocacy strategies that support programs

Helpful Tips

You will need to create an account before submitting a proposal. You may submit more than one proposal, and each proposed workshop can fall into no more than three strand categories.

Before entering the submission portal, you should have ready:

  • Presenter information (including title, experience, contact information, and headshot)
  • Co-presenter information (if applicable)
  • Workshop title, description, and details
  • Desired schedule

Workshop proposals are due by Friday, March 1, 2024, and we encourage submissions from presenters with diverse experiences, perspectives, and skills. Vendor proposals will be handled separately.

Our 2022 conference was a huge success.

As leading champions for the adult literacy field, we drew hundreds of practitioners, researchers, and advocates to our 2022 conference in San Antonio, Texas. After the pandemic delayed the conference for a year, everyone was excited to finally be together in person.

The 2022 conference featured more than 110 professional learning workshops; an awards luncheon honoring innovative programs, tutors, and students making progress in adult education; and networking events to learn from and have fun with one another. It was a true celebration of everyone’s efforts to advance adult literacy everywhere.
