The Fisk Jubilee Singers were a group of Fisk University students who traveled and sang to raise money for their school in the 1870s. Initially performing popular songs, they later started singing traditional slave songs called spirituals.

Their success and popularity saved Fisk University, allowing it to build its first permanent building called Jubilee Hall.
