Access funding for digital learning tools through New Readers Press.

 

 

 

Grant Information

Grants provided through our Mobile Learning Fund give adult literacy programs like yours access to free, easy-to-use solutions for online learning.

Subscriptions and licenses supported through our Mobile Learning Fund help programs like yours build capacity by supporting distance- and blended-learning solutions that can help you serve more students. Mobile Learning Fund grants may be used for digital materials, including:

  • New Readers Press Online Learning – courses to help adult students reach their goals, from building foundational skills for TABE success to preparing for the GED or HiSET test
  • Learning Upgrade – fun, engaging lessons to help students with low-literacy skills build reading, English, health literacy, math, digital literacy, work, and life skills
  • EnGen – general English and career preparation courses to upskill and empower English language learners for jobs of the future
  • Leamos – an online program that teaches basic Spanish reading and writing to native Spanish speakers to prepare them to move onto English language learning
  • News for You Online – a digital news source with high interest, low-level stories that build learners’ reading, comprehension, vocabulary, and English skills

What you need to know to apply.

Apply for a grant at any time throughout the year. We award grants on a rolling basis, until the funds have been exhausted for the year. Communications about the award will be sent by email.

To be eligible for this grant, your organization must:

  • Intend to implement the requested digital solution(s) within 30 days of onboarding.
  • Clearly define a specific need that the online solutions will address. 
  • Actively utilize each license awarded directly with adult students.* 
  • Submit a complete and detailed application. (Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.) 
  • Complete a free demo, trial, or pilot of the desired online solution. 

*Students 16 and older. Not intended for students enrolled in K-12 classrooms.

Upon receipt of your application, you will receive an email confirmation. You then will be contacted by an online learning specialist with next steps in the application process. 

 

 

The Mobile Learning Fund awards licenses for the following digital solutions: New Readers Press Online Learning, Learning Upgrade, EnGen, Leamos, News for You Online.  

The Mobile Learning Fund does not provide laptops, tablets, or other digital tools.

Yes! If eligible, your organization may apply to one or more of our three grant opportunities. Each of our funds—Literacy Opportunity Fund, National Book Fund, and Mobile Learning Fund—has a separate application with different requirements and deadlines, so be sure to follow the application guidelines for each.
